Katharina Karrenberg: Standbein rechts – Spielarm links
(Katharina Karrenberg: Right Leg Engaged – Left Arm Free)
This horizontal format, black-and-white catalog accompanying the exhibition of the same name by Katharina Karrenberg was edited by RealismusStudio. The plates focus on installation views at Berlin venues including Galerie Wewerka & Weiss, Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, and Kunst-Werke, but there are also details of various works, series of oil and watercolor paintings, collages, and objects made of salt dough. In her essay “The Image of Difference,” Bojana Pejic writes about the presence and absence of women in art and presents Karrenberg as an artist who takes difference as her theme. “By making an image, Katharina Karrenberg makes visible the invisible conflicts and tensions which make up our experience of the everyday.” Barbara Straka presents individual works by the artist, focusing on the installation from which the catalog takes its name.
