nGbK 1969–1977. Eine Zwischenbilanz
nGbK 1969–1977. Interim report
With this brochure, the nGbK looked back at its first eight years, as well as providing information about its founding and organization. There are statements on the self-image, statutes, and objectives of the art society, as well as brief discussions of key issues in art and art education. By this time, the nGbK had welcomed 300,000 visitors; one chapter focuses on the institution’s role within Berlin’s cultural life and its claim to nationwide influence—with publications playing a major part: “Several exhibitions were visited by between 40,000 and 50,000 people. This was matched by sales of the accompanying catalogues; they often sold out fast and had to be reprinted. The nationwide distribution of catalogues made key contents of the exhibitions known beyond Berlin.”
